Our Background

The Empire State Bioethics Consortium is a multidisciplinary organization of professionals dedicated to addressing ethical issues and inequities in health and health care across New York State.

ESBC arose from 2020 meetings by professionals involved in bioethics in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The article reproduced below provides a more complete description of its background.   

On April 22, 2021, ESBC was incorporated as a NYS Not-for-Profit Corporation.  Later that year it was recognized as tax exempt under IRC 501(c)3.
