About ESBC

Founded in 2020 in response to the Covid pandemic, the Empire State Bioethics Consortium is a not-for-profit membership organization of scholars, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to addressing ethical issues and inequities in health and healthcare across New York state.

Our Mission

To identify and respond to health-related ethical issues faced by individuals, families, populations, and communities in New York state, and by those entrusted with their care, with an emphasis on remediating structural inequities in healthcare and public health.
